Walgreens sued after man is allegedly injured in fall

Walgreens2

NEW ORLEANS – A New Orleans man is suing Walgreen's after he allegedly slipped on a wet surface near the frozen food aisle, causing personal injury.

Maurice Palmer filed suit against Walgreen Louisiana Company Inc. and its insurer in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Jan. 30.

The plaintiff claims that he was shopping near the store's frozen foods aisle when he suddenly tripped and fell due to a moisture-laden floor. The plaintiff claims that this dangerous condition was created by the plaintiff failing to maintain the floors, not placing warning signs near that area and failing to properly train and monitor its employees.

The plaintiff seeks an unspecified amount in damages for mental and physical pain and suffering, medical expenses, disability and loss of wages.

The plaintiff is represented by Leo J. Palazzo, Jason J. Markey, Michael J. Monistere and Mario A. Arteaga Jr. of New Orleans-based Palazzo Law Firm.

This case has been assigned to Division F Judge Christopher J. Bruno.

Case no. 2015-00914.
