Man sues hospitals for allegedly failing to properly diagnose benzene poisoning

Benzene cancer hazard danger sign s 0115

NEW ORLEANS – A man is suing Tulane Medical Center claiming that medical staff failed to properly diagnose him with benzene poisoning, thus resulting in severe pain and personal damages.

Nicolo Logiudice filed suit against Tulane Medical Center, Oschner Medical Center, East Jefferson Hospital and their insurers in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Feb. 2.

The plaintiff claims that the defendants were negligent in fulfilling their duties as medical professionals and are liable for deliberately ignoring information provided by Logiudice and failing to diagnose him with benzene poisoning, allegedly resulting in development of severe symptoms likely to negatively impact his whole life and cause him severe pain and subject him to numerous unnecessary surgical procedures.

The plaintiff seeks an unspecified amount in damages for his injuries and damages sustained.

The plaintiff is represented by Stavros Panagoulopoulos of New Orleans-based Pelican Law Group LLC.

This case has been assigned to Division M Judge Paulette R. Irons.

Case no. 2015-00973.
