GRETNA – A contractor is being sued by an electric component manufacturer for allegedly not paying for a generator used for a construction job at a federal prison.
Pantropic Power Inc. filed suit against Favalora Constructors Inc. and Favalora Properties LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court on Feb. 12.
Pantropic Power Inc. alleges it entered into an agreement to provide Favalora Constructors Inc. and Favalora Properties a generator for a power upgrade project being undertaken at the federal prison in Oakdale. The plaintiff contends that although the defendants said they would pay for the equipment as soon as they received an invoice, they failed to do so. Pantropic Power Inc. further asserts it entered into a monthly repayment plan with Favalora Constructors Inc. and Favalora Properties of the generator, but stopped receiving payments in January 2015 despite still maintaining a sizable balance on the debt.
The defendant is accused of breach of contract.
Damages in the amount of $77,634, plus applicable interest, are sought by the plaintiff.
