Alleged road rage assault leads to lawsuit

NEW ORLEANS – A New Orleans man is suing two individuals for allegedly forcing him to stop his vehicle by stepping in front of his vehicle and then assaulting him on the road.

Darren Lombard filed suit against Elton Nobre and Jose Nobre in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on April 21, 2015.

The plaintiff claims that he was operating his vehicle on Park Timbers Drive in New Orleans on April 25, 2014 when the defendant stepped in front of his vehicle, forcing him to stop suddenly. The plaintiff claims that the defendant Jose Nobre subsequently pounded on his vehicle. The plaintiff asserts that upon exiting the vehicle, defendant Elton Nobre approached him and knocked him to the ground. The plaintiff claims that he suffered injury to his face, head, neck, back and knees, requiring medical treatment.

The defendants are accused of negligence in striking the plaintiff and knocking him to the ground and pounding on the plaintiff's vehicle.

The plaintiff seeks an unspecified amount in damages for pain and suffering, medical expenses, loss of income, loss of enjoyment of life and permanent scarring.

The plaintiff is represented by Clarence F. Favret III, David Vicknair and James C. Cronvich of New Orleans-based Favret & Lea LLC.

This case has been assigned to Div. I Judge Piper D. Griffin.
