Golden Corral sued after customer allegedly injured in trip in pothole

BATON ROUGE – An East Baton Rouge Parish woman is suing a local Golden Corral Restaurant claiming she was injured when she stepped in a pothole in its parking lot.

Bonita Holden filed suit against Golden Corral Corporation, in the 19th Judicial District Court on April 2.

Holden claims she was headed for the entrance of Golden Corral Restaurant at 320 Somerulos Street in Baton Rouge, when she stepped into a pothole and injured herself on April 13, 2014. The plaintiff asserts she was severely injured while on the property.

The defendant is accused of creating an unreasonable risk to its customers, failing to warn customers of possible damages to their being or vehicle, and failing to take the adequate precautions to prevent placing customers in a dangerous situation.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for physical pain, mental pain, anguish, anxiety, depression, medical expenses and loss of wages.

Attorney Frank E. Brown III of Baton Rouge represents Holden.

The case has been assigned to Division E Judge William A. Morvant.

Case no. 638,338.
