NEW ORLEANS – A woman is suing a local bar and grill claiming that while at a restaurant to celebrate a class reunion the ceiling collapsed and caused her serious personal injury.
Gena Quest filed suit against Trey Rhodie, Mura Rhodie, Spice Bar and Grill, Tbarre L.L.C., Rodco Worldwide, and CJW Inc. the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on May 6.
Quest claims she was attending a class reunion for her former New Orleans high school, McDonogh 35, at Spice Bar and Grill on May 22, 2014. The plaintiff alleges that during the event the ceiling suddenly and without warning collapsed and landed on her, causing serious and severe bodily injury. Quest also states that there were many other witnesses there to the events.
The defendants are accused of failing to see what they should have seen, maintain proper condition of the premises and correct a hazardous condition.
The plaintiff seeks an unspecified amount in damages for physical pain and suffering, medical bills and interest.
The plaintiff is represented by attorney Pierre F. Gaudin of Gretna.
This case has been assigned to Div. N Judge Ethel S. Julien.
