GRETNA – A local motorist is suing Jefferson Parish claiming it negligently left an open water meter in a roadway which he caused him to be injured after he ran it over.
Kenneth Hill, and wife Emma, filed suit against Consolidated Road District A for the Parish of Jefferson in the 24th Judicial District Court on May 11.
Hill asserts that on May 13, 2014 he was driving his Dodge Intrepid on Cynthia Ave. in Waggaman when he ran over an unmarked and unfilled road construction area including an uncovered water meter hole. The plaintiff claims he received painful and serious injuries in the incident.
The defendant is accused of failing to maintain the roadway, failing to replace defective roadway area in a timely manner, failing to warn of the danger and allowing a danger to exist after being given notice.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought for pain and suffering, loss of enjoyment of life, medical expenses and economic damages.
Hill is represented by attorney Pierre F. Gaudin of Gretna.
The case has been assigned to Division B Judge Cornelius E. Regan.
