Family Dollar sued over woman’s allegedly injuries from fall over parking stop

GRETNA – A local discount retailer is being sued by a woman who claims it is responsible for injuries in a trip and fall over a parking stop.

Anna Camus filed suit against Family Dollar Stores of Louisiana Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court on June 3.

Camus alleges that on June 4, 2014 she was walking in the parking lot of the Family Dollar Store at 2932 Hwy. 90 in Avondale when she tripped and fell over a concrete parking stop. The plaintiff contends she was severely injured in the incident.

The defendant is accused of failing to properly inspect and warn of the danger, failing to warns customers of the danger, failing to properly maintain the area, creating a danger and allowing a danger to exist on the property.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for pain and suffering, permanent damage, loss of enjoyment of life, medical expenses and economic damages.

Camus is represented by attorney Pierre F. Gaudin of Gretna.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge E. Adrian Adams.

Case no. 750-320.
