Tulane Hospital sued over woman’s alleged injuries in slip and fall in cafeteria

NEW ORLEANS – A local hospital is being sued by a woman who claims she was injured after slipping and falling in its cafeteria.

June G. Hazeur filed suit against The Administrators of the Tulane Educational Fund and Tulane University Hospital and Clinic in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court.

The plaintiff claims the alleged incident took place on July 16, 2014 at Tulane Medical Center. The plaintiff contends that all her injuries were caused by the negligence of the defendants. Hazeur further contends the sudden and unexpected incident caused her to receive severe and painful injuries to her mind and body for which she has been obliged to undergo medical treatment, suffering great pain and mental anguish, loss of sleep and proper rest and also requiring medication.

The defendant is accused of failing to maintain the cafeteria floor, failing to properly inspect the premises, failing to warn of potential dangers, failing to provide safe walkways for its visitors and patients and any and all other acts of negligence and fault to be shown at the time of trial

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for mental and physical pain and suffering, medical expenses, lost wages and earning capacity, loss of lifestyle, disability and disfigurement, and any and all other items of damages which may be associated herewith.

The plaintiff is represented by Keith A. Conley, Brandner Law Firm, LLC.

The case has been assigned to Division J Judge Paula A. Brown.
