Couple sues Sunwing Airline following gangway accident, claiming injuries

Gangway

A Louisiana husband and wife are suing a Canadian airline following a gangway accident in Punta Cana International Airport in the Dominican Republic that allegedly injured the wife.

Kristine Kimble and David Kimble filed a complaint Aug. 27 in the Eastern District of Louisiana against Sunwing Airline, alleging negligence.

The complaint states that on May 28, Kristine Kimble slipped and fell while exiting the gangway in Punta Cana International Airport, injuring her right elbow and left knee.

The complaint states that Sunwing Airline was negligible because there was no non-skid stripping on the steps, resulting in Kimble's accident.

The plaintiffs seek to recover damages, plus costs of the suit.

They are represented by Stephen Bruno of Bruno & Bruno, LLP in New Orleans.
