A St. Tammany woman is suing her former employer, Eyelid Plastic Surgery & Reconstructive Center LLC, over claims of unpaid overtime wages.

Cynthia Renee Goza filed a complaint Aug. 24 in the Eastern District of Louisiana against Eyelid Plastic Surgery & Reconstructive Center LLC, alleging unpaid overtime wages in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

The complaint states that until her termination on April 10 from her position as a certified ophthalmic assistant for the defendant, Goza regularly worked more than 40 hours per week but was not paid time-and-a-half for each hour worked in excess of 40 hours per week. Goza began her employment with the defendant in February 2013.

According to the complaint, Goza was not compensated for approximately 446.11 hours worked. Goza seeks to recover the unpaid wages, plus attorney fees and court costs.

She is represented by Richard P. Bullock of Bullock & Ham of New Orleans.
