Zuppardo’s sued over woman’s alleged injuries in slip and fall

GRETNA – A local supermarket is being sued by a woman who claims she was injured in a slip and fall on the premises.

Mary Grant filed suit against Economical Supermarkets Inc. and Zuppardo’s Economical Supermarket in the 24th Judicial District Court on July .

Grant asserts she was a customer at the Zuppardo’s Economical Supermarket located at 5010 Veterans Blvd. in Metairie. The plaintiff claims she was walking in the frozen foods section of the store when she slipped in an unknown liquid and fell to the floor. 

The defendant is accused of failing to provide a safe premises, failing to provide a safe walkway, violation of state law, failing to supervise employees and creating an unreasonable risk of harm.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for physical pain and suffering, emotional pain and suffering, lost wages and medical bills.

Grant is represented by Myles Steib of Gerdner & Stein of Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Nancy A. Miller.
