A Louisiana woman is suing General Motors and a Baton Rogue car dealership, alleging failure to repair several severe defects to her warrantied Chevrolet Tahoe.

Cherissa Cabahug filed a lawsuit Sept. 8 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against General Motors,  General Motors Acceptance Corporation (GMAC), and Harris Chevrolet II, alleging negligent repair, lender liability, failure to adhere to their warranty and violations of Louisiana laws.

According to the complaint, Cabahug, who purchased the Chevy Tahoe on July 6, faced several problems with her vehicle, including stalling in the middle of the road. The suit says she brought the Tahoe, which was under warranty for the problems in question, in for repairs on multiple occasions but the repairs were never completed sufficiently.

Cabahug seeks damages of more than $100,000, including sale and finance charges of the car, insurance premiums, maintenance costs, repair costs, litigation fees, past and present losses, and any other relief deemed fitting by the court. She is represented by attorney Richard C. Dalton of Mandeville.

U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana case number 2:15-cv-04164-MLCF-SS.
