ENSCO's chief mechanic is seeking a damage award for injuries he allegedly suffered while working aboard one of the company's off-shore drilling vessels.
Jerry Hinkie filed suit on May 26 against ENSCO In the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.
Hinkie alleges was working aboard J/U ENSCO 94 in the late hours of Feb. 13, when he was asked to quickly repair a mud pump. According to the lawsuit, the pump was not properly assembled and when Hinkie went to lift it he injured his back and hip. Hinkie, unable to return to work, is suing ENSCO for carelessness and negligence.
ENSCO is asked to pay Hinkie's long and short term disability benefits or ENSCO refuses to pay Hinkie's disability he is asking them to pay $1.75 million in damages for his injuries.
