Houma man sues GC Services, alleging unfair debt collection

A Houma man is suing a business, alleging deceptive means of debt collection.

Bobby Paris filed a lawsuit Oct 9 in U.S. District Court Eastern District of Louisiana. against GC Services, alleging violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

According to the complaint, GC Services placed collection calls and left voice mails for Paris in July. However, the suit says, it failed to disclose the name of their company and that it was calling about a debt collection.

The lawsuit states the defendant called again through a different representative and once again failed to identify themselves or its purpose.

Paris seeks unspecified damages, litigation costs and any other relief deemed appropriate by the court. He is represented by attorney Avery Lea Griffin of Folsom.
