Orleans Parish man blames Black & Decker after table saw accident severs fingers

An Orleans Parish man is suing Black and Decker, alleging negligence for an injury incurred while using a table saw.

Nathan Grow filed the suit Oct. 29 in U.S. District Court Eastern District of Louisiana against Power Tool Specialists, doing business as Porter-Cable, and Black & Decker.

According to the complaint, on Nov. 29, 2014, the plaintiff was using a table saw, manufactured, marketed and distributed by the defendants, when he says the stand's leg braces collapsed, causing the table and blade to fall toward the floor, severing the the outer three fingers of the plaintiff's dominant right hand. 

The plaintiff alleges the defendants are liable under the Louisiana Products Liability Act.

Grow seeks damages and all costs of the court proceedings. He also requests a jury trial. He is represented attorneys Hugh P. Lambert, Cayce C. Peterson, Jeremy Z. Soso and Chatham S. Mangat of The Lambert Firm in New Orleans.
