A roustabout is suing a deep water drilling company, alleging negligence for two different injuries he sustained at two different times on a work site.
Justin Bailey filed a lawsuit Oct. 27 in U.S. District Court Eastern District of Louisiana against Seadrill Americas.
While working for the defendant as a roustabout on a deep water drilling vessel in the Gulf of Mexico, the plaintiff was injured March 17, and again July 11, in different parts of the body, his neck, left knee and left leg.
The plaintiff says these injuries were the result of inadequate safety policies on the part of the defendant as well as the un-seaworthiness of the vessel he was working on.
Bailey seeks a trial by jury, a judgment of $2 million, plus interest, attorney fees and costs of court. The plaintiff's attorneys are Berney L. Strauss, Rhett E. King and Sarah A. Lowman, of Strauss & King in New Orleans.
