NEW ORLEANS – A Louisiana couple is suing Keystone RV and Dixie Motors, alleging they sold them a defective recreational vehicle and failed to repair it.
Gary Carlton Thompson and Donna Marie Thompson filed a lawsuit Dec. 29 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Keystone RV Co., Dixie Motors LLC and Bank of America NA, alleging breach of warranty and negligent repair.
According to the complaint, the Thompsons purchased a 2014 Keystone Alpine RV on Jan. 10, 2015, from Dixie Motors for $70,596.29 and the Thompsons made a $4,500 down payment. Finance charges, the suit claims, will push the vehicle’s total cost to more than $150,000.
The Thompsons claim the vehicle contained numerous defects in materials and workmanship affecting the roof, door interior and other areas. After numerous repair attempts, the defendants have been unable to bring the RV into conformity with its warranties.
The Thompsons seek a jury trial and cancellation of the sales contract, as well as refund of the purchase price, attorney’s fees, interest and other monetary damages. They are represented by Mandeville attorney Richard C. Dalton.
