NEW ORLEANS – A crewman aboard the Triggerfish is suing his former employer, All Coast, claiming the company is liable for his on-the-job injuries.

Jermiah Johnson filed a lawsuit Jan. 8 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against All Coast LLC, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, a chain holding the swing Johnson was seated on broke on Aug. 25, 2015, injuring his hips and causing a herniated disk in his lumbar spine. The suit claims Johnson’s injuries have left him unable to return to his $275-a-day job as a seaman.

Johnson seeks a jury trial and $3 million. He is represented by attorneys Berney L. Strauss, Rhett E. King, Sarah A. Lowman and Clinton G. Mead of Strauss & King APLC in New Orleans.
