Woman accuses Louisiana Housing Corp., director of sexual harassment

Harassment hand

BATON ROUGE – A woman from East Baton Rouge Parish is suing her employer, Louisiana Housing Corp., in a case alleging sexual harassment.

Dianah Hanson filed a lawsuit Jan. 6 in U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana against Louisiana Housing Corp. and its former director, Frederick Tombar III, citing violation of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, deprivation of constitutional rights, unlawful discrimination and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

According to the complaint, Tombar allegedly began harassing Hanson, a housing specialist for LHC, for sex in November 2014. After five months of allegedly ongoing texting, social media contact and phone calls of an allegedly inappropriate nature, the suit says Hanson complained to LHC’s board of directors about the situation in April. Tombar allegedly resigned the same month. The complaint states that after an article was published in the Baton Rouge Advocate in May describing both her and an unnamed person's complaints against Tombar, Hanson claims she became the target of workplace gossip.

Hanson seeks punitive and actual damages, interest and legal costs. She is represented by attorney Michael Reese Davis, L.J. Hymel, Tim P. Hartdegen and Ryan M. Falgoust of the Baton Rouge firm Hymel Davis & Petersen LLC.
