BATON ROUGE – A Sicily Island couple are suing ladder manufacturer Climbtek, claiming its allegedly defective product injured the husband.

Marvin Fulford and Rena Fulford filed a lawsuit Jan. 8 in U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana against Climbtek Inc., alleging breach of express warranty.

According to the complaint, Marvin Fulford was servicing a suspended heating unit using an articulated ladder made by Climbtek on Feb. 2. The suit says the ladder prematurely folded and collapsed, throwing Fulford to the floor and allegedly causing serious injuries to his skull and other areas.

The Fulfords seek damages of more than $75,000. They are represented by P. Craig Morrow of Morrow, Morrow, Ryan & Bassett of Opelousas and by Charles S. Norris Jr. and Christopher J. Norris of the Norris Law Firm in Vidalia.
