NEW ORLEANS – Three Louisiana fishermen are suing their former employer, DeQueen Inc., over injuries they allegedly sustained aboard a vessel in waters near Plaquemines Parish.

Son Tran, Phuong Tran and Tuan Tran filed a lawsuit Jan. 22 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against DeQueen Inc., Capt. Phuong Tran and the vessel DeQueen, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the three plaintiffs were deckhands aboard the defendant-owned vessel, the DeQueen, on Sept. 9, 2012, when Capt. Phuong Tran allegedly struck an object. The impact knocked the plaintiffs over, allegedly causing injuries. The plaintiffs are seeking a lien against the ship to recover damages.

The plaintiffs seek compensation for pain and suffering, disability, lost wages, medical expenses and litigation costs in an amount to be determined at trial. They are represented by attorneys Anh Quang Cao and Ryan Beasley of the Cao Law Firm in Harvey.
