NEW ORLEANS – A marine surveyor alleges that it has not been paid for its services by 3 L Leasing.

New Orleans Marine Services LLC filed a lawsuit on Feb. 22 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against 3 L Leasing LLC over alleged breach of contract and failure of payment.

The plaintiff alleges that 3 L Leasing hired it as a maritime surveyor with regards to the spud barge Mr. Bob in a litigation titled U.S., for the Use and Benefit of 3 L Leasing LLC v. Russel Grillot, Grillot Construction, LLC, and Specialty Insurance Co. in the U. S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, Case number 2:14-cv-02539-SRD-SS.

The plaintiff alleges that its total services, materials, and labor provided to defendant amounted to $39,370.15, and that 3 L has not made a single payment despite attempted demands, including a letter sent on Jan. 5. This, plaintiff asserts, is a breach of contract on an open account.

Plaintiff is now seeking the full $39,370.15 plus interests, the cost of the suit, attorney fees, and any other just reward. The organization is represented by Corey E. Dunbar from Pivach, Pivach, Hufft, & Thriffiley & Dunbar LLC in Belle Chasse.
