Security shift supervisor sues Entergy over unpaid overtime claims

Money

NEW ORLEANS – A supervisor for Entergy Operations Inc. is suing his employer, alleging he did not receive overtime compensation for three years.

Troy Self filed a lawsuit on Feb. 24 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Entergy Operations Inc., citing violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, Self was employed by the defendant and routinely worked and was on-call to work in excess of 40 hours per week as a security shift supervisor. In March 2015, the plaintiff was reclassified as an hourly, overtime-eligible employee, the suit states. Self avers that for three years prior to the reclassification, the defendant willingly and intentionally failed to pay overtime wages pursuant to the FLSA.

Self seeks compensatory damages, liquidated damages, attorneys’ fees, costs and expenses. He is represented by R. Glenn Cater and Amanda Graeber of Cater & Associates LLC in New Orleans.
