Man alleges U.S. Commissioner of Social Security unlawfully denied his application

Denied

LAFAYETTE – A man has filed suit over claims that his application for Social Security benefits was wrongfully denied.

Johnny Joseph Semien filed the lawsuit on March 11 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana, Lafayette Division against the U.S. Commissioner of Social Security.

According to the complaint, Semien is a resident in the Parish of Evangeline who filed an application that was denied by the defendant, and he demands a review of the final decision. The plaintiff claims that the denial is contrary to the law and unsubstantiated.

Semien seeks remand of the case for further hearing without prepayment of costs. He is represented by Guy O. Mitchell of the Mitchell Law Office in Ville Platte.
