Customer accuses creditor of fraudulent transfer

Overdue

BATON ROUGE — Two Louisiana residents are suing a Baton Rouge credit institution, alleging fraudulent transfer.

Dolores Dennis and Samera L. Abide, acing as trustee, filed a lawsuit Feb. 2, in U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana against Tower Credit Inc., alleging violation of the United States Bankruptcy Code.

According to the complaint, Dennis received a less than reasonably equivalent value in exchange for transfers, even though Tower Credit transferred the property of the debtor within 90 days of the petition date, and a total amount of $2,460.74.

Dennis seeks trial by jury, judgment against the defendant for $2,460.74, plus interest, attorney fees, costs and for any relief to which she is is legally entitled. Abide is representing the plaintiffs.
