NEW ORLEANS — A disabled Jefferson Parish woman is suing an insurance provider, alleging violation of workers compensation laws.

Jean W. Dragna filed a lawsuit April 5 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Life Insurance Company of North America, alleging violation of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

According to the complaint, Dragna, who worked for the Jefferson Parish School Board, has not received her benefits under a long-term disability plan. The plaintiff alleges the defendant has denied her appeal to pay those benefits.

Dragna requests the awarding of her long-term disability benefits and all other just relief. She is represented by attorneys Steven M. Lozes of Lozes & Lozes in New Orleans, and Robert M. Braiwick Jr. in Metaire.
