Ship equipment provider alleges charterer, vessel owner owe $36,000

NEW ORLEANS — A vessel equipment provider is suing a charterer and a ship owner, alleging they owe more than $36,000.

Unique System LLC filed a lawsuit May 5 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against M/V Siem Spearfish and Harkand Gulf Services LLC, alleging breach of contract in failure to to pay for delivered products.

According to the complaint, Unique System provided equipment and other vessel necessities that were essential to and necessary for the operation and accomplishments of the defendants' mission in the principal amount of $36,787.80, excluding interest. 

Despite amicable demand, the amount remains unpaid. 

Unique System seeks a trial by jury, an order instructing the U.S. marshal for this district to maintain custody of the M/V Spearfish, judgment of $36,787.80, plus interest of $1214.05, and all other relief the case allows. It is represented by attorneys Ralph E. Kraft and Bryan E. Lege of Kraft Lege LLC in Lafayette.
