Jefferson Parish alleges she was caused to slip and fall in a Walmart

GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish woman is seeking damages following an incident that occurred in a Walmart.

Kenita Brown filed a suit against Wal-Mart Louisiana LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court on May 9.

According to the claim, Brown was at the Walmart Supercenter store No. 911 at 4810 Lapalco Blvd. in Marrero on May 17, 2015, when the incident occurred. The suit states that while walking through the store, Brown was caused to slip and fall when she encountered a puddle of liquid on the ground. Upon falling, Brown was allegedly injured.

The defendant is accused of failing to maintain the store in a safe condition and failing to follow the proper procedure for keeping the floor in the proper condition.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. She is represented by Jonathan P. Friedman of Silbert, Garon, Pitre and Friedman in New Orleans. The case has been assigned to Division E Judge John J. Molaison Jr.
