Orleans Parish man alleges damages after I-10 accident

GRETNA – An Orleans Parish man is seeking damages after an accident on Interstate 10.

Darryl Walters Sr. filed a suit against Federated Mutual Insurance Co., Douglas Dupre, Five Star Leasing Inc. and Dugas Oil Co. Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court on May 11.

According to the claim, Walters Sr. was driving on May 13, 2015, when the incident occurred on Interstate 10 in Jefferson Parish. The suit states that Dupre was driving a vehicle owned by the Five Star Leasing and Dugas Oil when he collided with the rear of Walters' vehicle, causing damages.

The defendant is accused of negligence through his failure to see what he should have, failure to keep a lookout for other cars, failure to keep a safe distance and failure to drive at a safe speed.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. He is represented by Edward J. Womac Jr. and Guy S. Parks of the Law Offices of Edward J. Womac Jr & Associates in New Orleans. The case has been assigned to Division B Judge Cornelius E. Regan.
