Suit claims Coke contained foreign objects, caused illness

GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish man is seeking damages following an incident in which he claims he ingested contaminated Coca-Cola from a Circle K Store.

Henry St. Amant filed a suit against Coca-Cola Refreshments USA Inc, Louisiana Coca-Cola Bottling Company LLC and Circle K Stores Inc in the 24th Judicial District Court on May 19.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was a customer at the Circle K Store located at 3530 North Causeway Blvd. on June 4, 2015 when the incident occurred. The suit states that while inside the store, the plaintiff realized that the Coca-Cola product he was drinking, and had purchased from the store, contained foreign objects, resulting in his purported illness.

The defendant is accused of negligence through the distribution of contaminated products and the failure to warn the customers of potential threats.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. He is represented by Robert T. Hughes and Ryan J. Hughes.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Raymond S. Steib Jr.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case number 761026.
