Man seeks damages after he allegedly slipped and fell in an Applebee's

GRETNA – An Orleans man claims that he was caused to slip and fall on a wet substance in the men's restroom at an Applebee's.

Eric O'Neal Sr. filed a suit against Applebee's Restaurants LLC and Southern River Restaurants LLC, doing business as Applebee's, in the 24th Judicial District Court on June 1.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was a guest at the Applebee's restaurant located at 3701 Veterans Blvd. when the incident occurred on May 24, 2015. The suit states that while walking into the men's restroom, the plaintiff was caused to slip and fall on a clear liquid that had allegedly been left on the floor. The suit further states that due to the fall, the plaintiff was caused personal physical injuries.

The defendants are accused of negligence through their failure to allow such a condition to exist and failing to warn customers of the present danger.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. He is represented by Albert A. Thibodeaux of Davillier Law Group in New Orleans. The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Nancy A. Miller
