Woman seeks damages after Jefferson Highway accident

Car accident 30

GRETNA – A woman claims that she was rear-ended when a negligent driver pushed another car into her own car.

Betty Vix filed a suit against Dewitt Webster George and Louisiana Insurance Guaranty Association in the 24th Judicial District Court on June 1.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was operating her vehicle on June 8, 2015, when the incident occurred. The suit states that the plaintiff was in the left turn lane on Jefferson Highway, waiting to make a U-turn. The suit additionally states that while stopped, the plaintiff's car was hit in the rear by a car operated by Terrance Anthony Jones, but was allegedly caused by Dewitt Webster George, who struck Jones' car and pushed it into the plaintiff's.

George is accused of negligence in the careless operation of the vehicle, failing to keep a proper lookout and following too closely.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. She is represented by Clement P. Donelon of Metairie. The case has been assigned to Division E Judge John J. Molaison Jr.
