ALEXANDRIA — A former school principal has filed suit against a school district for alleged disability discrimination.

Bobbie N. Hinson filed a complaint July 8 in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana, Alexandria Division, against Concordia Parish School Board, alleging that it violated the Louisiana Employment Discrimination Law.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she was subjected to disability discrimination and disparate treatment, and was forced to retire prior to the commencement of the 2015-2016 school year, causing her to suffer loss of earnings, bonuses, promotional opportunities, benefits, embarrassment, humiliation and mental anguish. The plaintiff holds Concordia Parish School Board responsible because the defendant allegedly retaliated against her by refusing her requests for reasonable accommodations, interfered with her ability to continue working and drastically altered her terms, conditions and privileges of employment.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant for all damages suffered, attorneys' fees, expert witness fees, court costs and for any other relief to which she may be entitled. She is represented by Michael L. DuBos and K. Lamar Walters of Breithaupt Dunn DuBos Shafto & Wolleson LLC in Monroe.
