Delgado Community College seeks allegedly unpaid tuition

NEW ORLEANS – A community college claims that a student failed to pay for tuition.

The Louisiana Community and Technical College System through Delgado Community College filed a suit against Chad Rashawn Hayes in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on July 25.

According to the claim, the defendant was a student at the community college in the Spring 2013 semester. The suit states that though the defendant received services from the college and incurred a balance of more than $1,100, he has thus failed to make payments on the balance.

The defendant is accused of open account through failing to pay for the services that he received.

The plaintiff is seeking $1,149.95 in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Rokeya J. Morris of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge Robin M. Giarrusso.
