Community college claims that a student failed to make payments

NEW ORLEANS – A community college claims that a student failed to pay for attending.

The Louisiana Community and Technical College System through Delgado Community College filed a suit against Demetria Winchester in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on July 20.

According to the claim, the defendant was a student at the community college in the spring of 2013. The suit states that through the student received the benefits of attending the institution, she failed to make payments of more than $800, thus maintaining an open account.

The defendant is accused of open account through failing to pay for the services that she received.

The plaintiff is seeking $807.25 in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Wendy Ramnarine of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Piper D. Griffin.
