Construction-related service provider alleges ex-employee breached contract

LAKE CHARLES — A Georgia construction-related service provider is suing a former employee, alleging breach of contract.

Brand Energy Solutions LLC filed a lawsuit July 12 in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana Lake Charles Division against Cody Gilley of Calcasieu Parish, alleging the defendant violated his employment agreement.

According to the complaint, Brand Energy has suffered financial damages in the amount of revenue lost to a competitor, Apache Industrial Services, for its work performed for Lyondell-Lake Charles and Indorama. 

The plaintiff alleges Gilley violated the terms their agreement by leaving the plaintiff's employment and immediately starting employment with a direct competitor.

Brand Energy Solutions seeks a trial by jury, preliminary and permanent injunctions prohibiting the defendant from soliciting the plaintiff's customers, compensatory damages, all legal costs and attorney fees and such other relief the court deems just and appropriate.
