NEW ORLEANS – A company is seeking damages after one of its employees allegedly was injured on the job.

Hartford A/S/O Premier Telecommunications Services NOLA LLC filed suit against Mary Clark and State Farm in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on July 29.

According to the claim, a worker entered the defendant's attic to complete some work on July 29, 2015, during which time the plywood floor allegedly broke and caused him to fall through and injure his foot.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to provide a safe venue for the work to be completed, failing to provide warning of the danger present and overall negligence in relation to the situation.

The plaintiff is seeking $49,419.94 in damages plus judicial interest and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Rachel D. Johnson and Julie Vaicius of Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge Robin M. Giarrusso.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court case number 2016-7592.
