NEW ORLEANS – An Orleans Parish corporation is seeking damages, claiming that a tenant has violated the terms of the lease.
Irish Channel Properties Inc. filed a suit against Mijo Enterprises LLC in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on July 27.
According to the claim, the plaintiff entered into a lease agreement with the defendant on July 10, 2013, for the property located at 1910 Magazine Street Upper & Lower and 1912 Magazine Upper and Rear Lower. The defendant allegedly operates the Hooka House Cafe at these locations. The suit states that the defendant has violated the contract terms by allegedly failing to pay rent and failing to make repairs as outlined in the agreement.
The defendant is accused of breach of contract through failing to pay rent or repair the property.
The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages and eviction of the defendant. The plaintiff is represented by W. Patrick Klotz of Klotz and Early in New Orleans.
The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Piper D. Griffin.
