Individual claims greasy floor at a Chili's caused injuries from fall

GRETNA – An individual alleges a slip and fall in a Chili's restaurant caused injuries.

Mervat Minias filed a suit against Chili's Grill and Bar in the 24th Judicial District Court on July 28.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was a customer in the Chili's located at 1741 Manhattan Blvd. in Harvey on Aug. 2, 2015, when the incident occurred. The suit states that the plaintiff was caused to slip and fall when the plaintiff encountered a greasy substance on the ground.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to inspect the premises, failing to place the proper signage to warn customers of the danger present and overall negligence in the treatment of the situation.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Christopher Minias of Harvey.

The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Scott U. Schlegel.
