Woman alleges fall at Chateau Living Center injured ankle

GRETNA – A woman alleges she fractured her ankle because of the negligent condition of the walkway at a health care facility.

Nancy Calcagno filed a suit against Chateau Living Center and Chateau Living Center of Kenner LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court on July 27.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was at the facility owned by the defendant and located on 716 Village Road in Kenner on Aug. 30, 2015 when the incident occurred. The suit states that the plaintiff was caused to twist and fracture her ankle after stepping in a hole in the walkway at the bottom of a ramp.

The defendants are accused of negligence through failing to maintain their premises, failure to practice reasonable care and failure to provide a safe environment for visitors.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. She is represented by Blake G. Arata Jr., W. Chad Stelly and C. Perrin Rome III of Rome, Arata, Baxley & Stelly LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division H Judge Glenn B. Ansardi.
