NEW ORLEANS – A mother is seeking damages for the injuries she and her children sustained in an accident that she claims stems from a defective Ford Explorer.
Kaylee Eveler, individually and as the administratrix of the estates of her two minor children, filed a suit against Ford Motor Co. in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Aug. 9.
According to the claim, Luis Eveler was operating a Ford Explorer on Aug. 10, 2015, on Interstate 10 in the Parish of Orleans, with the passengers being the plaintiff and her two minor children. The suit states that when Luis Eveler veered onto the highway's shoulder and then tried to turn back on the highway, the vehicle flipped, causing injuries to the individuals inside, who were ejected from the vehicle.
The defendant is accused of failing to warn of the dangers associated with the vehicle, failing to design a vehicle that was free of defects and providing the plaintiff with an unreasonably unsafe car.
The plaintiffs are seeking an unspecified amount in damages. They are represented by J. Nelson Mayer of Valteau, Harris, Koenigh & Mayer in New Orleans.
The case has been assigned to Division N Judge Ethel S. Julien.
