BATON ROUGE — A production company and its subsidiary are suing a former employee, alleging fraudulent manipulation with a credit card.

Axiall Corporation, Axiall, LLC of Atlanta and Royal Building Products Inc. of Canada filed a lawsuit Aug. 5 in U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana against Wade A. Barbay of Louisiana, alleging violation of the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs have suffered financial injuries, losses and damages because Barbay fraudulently used his company-issued corporate American Express card for personal expenditures and concealed his unlawful taking of funds of more than $75,000.

The plaintiffs seek trial by jury, all damages and relief to which they are entitled, plus costs, interest and attorney fees. They are represented by attorneys L.J. Hymel, Michael Reese Davis, Tim P. Hartdegen and Richard A. Sherburne, Jr. of Hymel Davis & Petersen LLC in Baton Rouge, and by F. Charles Marionneaux of Baton Rouge.
