Shelf at Walmart allegedly injured a customer

GRETNA – A woman claims that a shelf fell on her at a Walmart store, causing injuries.

June Durnin filed a suit against Wal-Mart Louisiana LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was a customer in the Walmart located in Kenner on Oct.15, 2015, when the incident occurred. The suit states that the plaintiff was injured when a shelf allegedly collapsed on her due to improper stacking.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failure to provide a safe environment for customers, failing to maintain the premises in a safe state and negligence to take the necessary precautions to prevent such incidents.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. She is represented by Lloyd Frischentz.

The case has been assigned to Division P Judge Lee V. Faulkner Jr.
