Castillo Construction Co. alleged to have abandoned renovation project

NEW ORLEANS – A man claims a Jefferson Parish construction company he hired to renovate his home abandoned the project.

Brian Furness filed a suit against Castillo Construction Co. Inc. and Seneca Specialty Insurance Co. in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court.

According to the claim, the defendant and plaintiff were in a relationship in which the defendant was completing work for the plaintiff on his property. The suit states that the defendant breached the contract by abandoning the job and failing to provide the work as stated in the contract. The suit states a second contractor was hired by the plaintiff and found the defendant's construction was negligent.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. He is represented by Joe Rochelle of Destrehan.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Christopher J. Bruno.
