The University of Louisiana at Lafayette alleges former student hasn't paid fees

GRETNA – The University of Louisiana at Lafayette alleges a former student has an open account.

The University of Louisiana System board of supervisors through the University of Louisiana at Lafayette filed a suit against Marquel Stackhouse in the 24th Judicial District Court.

According to the claim, the defendant was issued an account by the plaintiff, with the understanding that the balance incurred for tuition would be paid. The suit states that the defendant has thus failed to pay off the balance of more than $4,000.

The defendant is accused of open account against the plaintiff.

The plaintiff is seeking $4,135.90 in damages. The plaintiff is represented by J. Andrew Murrell of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Scott U. Schlegel.
