Woman alleges porch fall was caused by negligence

NEW ORLEANS – A woman alleges that she fell through the rear porch on her leased residence.

Patrice Gibson filed a suit against Housing Authority of New Orleans, William J. Fischer Community Center and XYZ insurance company in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Sept. 21.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was at her home located at 1501 Shepard St., which is located in the William J. Fischer Community Center and owned by the Housing Authority of New Orleans, when the incident occurred on Sept. 21, 2015. The suit states that the plaintiff was caused injuries when she fell through the floor of her porch.

The defendants are accused of negligence through failing to properly maintain the premises and failing to warn of the hazardous condition.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. She is represented by John D. Sileo and Casey W. Moll of New Orleans

The case has been assigned to Division N Judge Ethel S. Julien.
