Violet man accused of breach of contract in sale of Proofed Donuts

NEW ORLEANS – A Louisiana resident alleges a business partner breached a contract and diverted money for his personal gain.

Ali Darwish filed a suit against Darwish LLC, Jamal Hizam, Proofed Donuts LLC in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Sept. 20.

According to the claim, the plaintiff and Hizam were business partners employed by Darwish LLC and Proofed Donuts. The suit states they entered into an agreement to purchase Proofed Donuts from Brandon Singleton, but Hizam breached the agreement by failing to make timely payments. The plaintiff alleges Hizam attempted to sell Proofed Donuts without the plaintiff's knowledge and also diverted money for his personal gain.

Hizam is accused of breach of contract.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Leo Caillier III of Caillier & Associates in Gretna.

The case has been assigned to Division J Judge Paula A. Brown.
