Stratos Elevator alleged to have improperly installed elevator at Kenner property

GRETNA – A Fort Worth, Texas property owner alleges a Baton Rouge company negligently installed elevators at a Kenner location.

1919 Veterans Inc. filed a suit against Stratos Elevator Inc. and ABC insurance company in the 24th Judicial District Court.

According to the claim, the plaintiff, who is the owner of the property located at 1919 Veterans Blvd., suffered damages during Hurricane Katrina to the hydraulic elevators. The suit states that the plaintiff hired the defendant for repairs to be made to the property in 2005 and that work commenced in 2007. The plaintiff alleges that an elevator stopped working in 2015 because of an improperly installed elevator jack system.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract for the negligence installation of the elevator systems.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Eric J. O'Bell and Bradley T. Oster of O'Bell Law Firm in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Scott U. Schlegel.
