Man alleges Bergeron Freight Services unlawfully docked pay

GRETNA – A driver and laborer alleges he was not properly compensated by his former employer.

Willard George filed a suit against Bergeron Freight Services Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court on Sept. 23.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was an employee of the defendant from 2014 to 2016. The suit states that the plaintiff delivered the level of work required always and that he worked overtime hours. The suit also states that the defendant failed to pay the plaintiff for all hours worked and unlawfully docked pay when deliveries could not be made.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract for failing to pay the plaintiff what he was owed and for breaching labor standard laws in relation to the pay of employees.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Brian King, Jason F. Giles and Anthony J. Milazzo III of the King Law Firm in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division K Judge Ellen Shirer Kovach.
